Since the Young Gun of Wine Awards were first held back in 2007, one of the most important aspects of the annual event has been the enthusiastic participation of the public. Each year, as well as a panel of judges convening to select a shortlist of the top 50 worthy up-and-coming new producers, and then picking who they think should be named Young Gun of Wine, hundreds of keen consumers have also been given the opportunity to choose a People’s Choice Award at well-attended public tastings.
