How Australia's public transport will change after coronavirus pandemic

Commuters on trains and buses in Australia's major cities may be forced into wearing masks and undergoing temperature checks as the nation gets back to work, a transport policy expert has predicted. Marion Terrill of the Grattan Institute has also foreshadowed a rise in motorised scooters and bicycles, as Australians go solo and avoid transport and stations packed with people. Key roads leading into CBDs may also be modified in our cities of the future to allow for fleets of personalised modes of travel, Ms Terrill said in a recent webinar hosted by the Grattan Institute.
