A home's entrance and hallway hints at what lies beyond. It is the first impression visitors get – so it pays to make it a good one.
One of the best ways to decorate an entryway is to use furniture. "Space allowing, both entrances and hallways benefit from thoughtfully placed furniture," says Sydney interior designer Meryl Hare. A hall table is not only a spot to drop your keys, she adds, but somewhere to place a lamp, flowers, a beautiful artwork – all of which serve to set the mood in your home."
If you have a large entry, a bench or armchair is a great way to add texture, colour and a nicely finished feel.
